RECIPE: Orange Spiced French Toast – Perfect For Christmas Brunch

This lightly spiced French toast is flavoured with orange and is perfect for a festive brunch

  • 3 eggs
  • 100 ml milk
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 pinch allspice
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 4 slices brioche
  • Butter for frying

Garnish for serving

  • Maple syrup
  • fruit and berries


  1. Pre-heat a frying pan.
  2. Briefly beat the eggs and milk together and add the orange zest and spices.
  3. Pour the mixture into a wide, flat bowl large enough to take a slice of brioche.
  4. Dip the brioche slices into the egg mix, turning gently to make sure the it’s well soaked through.
  5. Fry until golden, using the butter and turning once to cook on both sides.
  6. Serve immediately with maple syrup and berries.
