Announcing the opening of Bistro Vadouvan, a uniquely delicious new Modern French concept subtly blending the essence of French cuisine with spices of the Orient.

The Concept

A collaboration between two old college friends with award-winning and Michelin-starred backgrounds, Bistro Vadouvan is the only one of its kind in London.

The first solo venture for chef patron and Michelin-trained Durga Misra, Bistro Vadouvan’s cuisine delicately mixes elements of Middle Eastern and Asian spice with classical French cuisine, creating mouth-watering and original dishes that are packed full of taste while also having a delicate, contemporary feel.

This unique balance and lightness of touch brings out the best of the much loved French culinary style, whilst also reflecting today’s inclination for healthier food.

The Menu

Chef-patron Durga’s inspiration comes from his Michelin-starred background, having worked with the likes of Eric Chavot, Joel Antunes and Pascal Proyart and ensures each one of the Bistro’s dishes is unique, perfectly balanced and utterly delicious.

The kitchen features not one but two clay ovens for a bespoke BBQ section. Dishes on the opening menu include Spiced Bouillabaisse Provencal; Middle Eastern Beef Tartare with Smoked Aubergine; Seabass with Celeriac, Cauliflower & Raz el Hanout; Duck Leg Asiatique “Pot au Pho”; and house specialty Vadouvan Sausage & Mash.

For desserts, Luxurious Chocolate and Bitter Orange and Exotic Cheesecake with Passion Fruit Cremeux make the perfect end to a meal.

The Bistro

The Bistro has an enviable position on the main piazza of Putney Wharf, with stunning views of the River Thames. It skilfully combines traditional rustic charm with a modern touch to create an informal, relaxed and comfortable ambience.

With four quite distinct dining sections, the Bistro caters for a wide range of guests, from locals grabbing a quick bite, families and friends enjoying a leisurely meal to parties and special events.

The main dining area features stripped beams and a stunning open wine cellar as well as a fabulous electric blue banquette for the ultimate in stylish dining.

The beautiful block wood communal dining table embodies the essence of Bistro Vadouvan, where neighbours, locals and friends can meet to enjoy our hospitality in relaxed and friendly surrounds.

For quick bites and kitchen views the kitchen bar offers select dining options, while our semi-private balcony is perfect for groups and parties up to 16.

And for when the weather’s nice, there are plenty of tables on the outside terrace to soak up the rays while enjoying Bistro Vadouvan’s delicious food and fabulous views.

At its heart, Bistro Vadouvan is about providing luxurious comfort food packed full of flavour in relaxed surrounds while delivering great value. Average spend per head is around £35 per person.
