The PPMA Show, the UK’s leading processing and packaging machinery exhibition, took place at the NEC in Birmingham between September 27th and 29th, and featured a wide range of cutting-edge equipment and technologies demonstrated live for what proved to be a very popular event.

The PPMA is the UK’s trade association for suppliers of processing and packaging machinery and represents over 400 member and associate companies. Its principle objective is to promote sales of machinery, both at home and abroad, through various projects and services of mutual benefit to both members and their customers by providing free technical and machinery information and advice.
Many of the industry’s leading manufacturers were present at the NEC, and quite a few took advantage of visiting stand C15 where experts were on hand to help manufacturers to tackle some of the industry’s biggest challenges.

Of particular interest to the food and drink sector was Kemtile’s stand, which was receiving more than its fair share of visitors. Kemtile has been a supplier and installer of hygienic seamless and ceramic flooring (Ucrete and Kagetec) to the food and drink industry since 1979, and its professional approach in this exacting and time sensitive market has always been appreciated by its customers. It has a range of products to suit every application from dairy to food packaging.

Kemtile has worked with Ucrete from the beginning and is the longest appointed installer of Ucrete’s products in the UK. Its stand at this year’s show featured the most popular colours in the Ucrete range, as well as examples of laid Kagetec tiles, Ucrete and channels and kerbs in a typical installation. In addition to floors the company also has a new range of hygienic wall finishes: Protectorseal, which provides a seamless hygienic wall finish that is steam cleanable, tough and durable.
