Hygiene Group, the specialist contract cleaning services provider, has re-launched its network of mobile cleaning teams with a new name, new kit, and improved service offering.

The mobile teams carry out short-term deep-cleaning projects of anything up to three weeks, typically in the food and beverage sector. Now completely self-sufficient, the highly trained teams require only changing and storage facilities to be able to undertake a thorough scheduled clean, with no inconvenience or extra work created for the client.

Steve Bailey, managing director of Hygiene Group, explained: “Our mobile teams are a complete solution for the short-term needs of food manufacturers and the re-launch follows a period of investment and intensive specialist training, meaning teams are able deal quickly and effectively with the unique challenges of each site whilst adhering to the relevant food safety standards. The investment we have made into the teams demonstrates our commitment to delivering excellence in food hygiene and cleaning services – however long the job.”

Hygiene Group has also overhauled team vehicles to provide more efficient storage space, separating clean and soiled equipment as well as documentation and personal items, as well as solving a common problem. Traditionally, teams have faced difficulties when it comes to keeping workwear contaminant-free as, due to the shorter contract length, they may not be issued with food grade clothing by the customer’s own laundry service. Hygiene Group’s industry-first solution was to equip each team member with two distinct uniforms – travel wear for their journey, and freshly-laundered, resilient workwear to be worn inside the factory. To reduce the risk of cross-contamination, the kit comes in a specially-designed holdall with separate compartments for each outfit.

Steve added: “It is notoriously difficult for mobile workforces to fully meet food hygiene regulations, due to restricted access to changing and storage facilities on-site. Often the issue of workwear and travel is left to the customer to deal with, but our new kit allows our teams to take responsibility while reassuring the client that the teams are operating in the safest possible way.”
