Manufacturing and bottling for many of the world’s most prestigious brands, Co. Antrim-based Norbev first opened its doors for business back in 1919, the same year that two British aviators, Alcock and Brown, became the first to fly across the Atlantic non-stop (from Newfoundland to the west of Ireland).

The company was originally housed in an old laundry building where glass bottles were washed, labelled and corked by hand. From these modest beginnings, it has progressively expanded down the years into a position where, today, it is able to offer world-class, flexible solutions for manufacturing, product development and packaging.

Norbev’s heritage and development is based upon innovation and a ‘can-do’ approach to delivering customer needs and satisfaction. In fact, the company is committed to staying at the vanguard of its industry, investing in state-of-the-art technology that allows it to provide clients with dynamic, competitive solutions, such as bottle sleeving and cardboard cluster packing.

This drive for innovation and exclusivity led the company to invest in a third production line in 2010, bringing the technical capabilities of producing shot size bottles on a commercial basis: Norbev is one of only a few that has this capability.

The company’s modern facility caters for PET and glass, in many shapes and sizes, designed specifically for the client’s needs; a service that can incorporate the creation, blending, bottling, labelling, sleeving and packaging of the desired product. Norbev also has fully equipped analytical and microbiological laboratories, which provide rapid on-site analysis at the point of production and shelf life stability testing.

Working in conjunction with many suppliers and design teams, Norbev can create an influential product image too: indeed, the company is renowned for not simply supplying products, but also resources for creativity and product development. Its business philosophy revolves around it becoming an extension of its customers businesses.

It is this enlightened approach that has allowed Norbev to attract clients such as Aima Foods, Aldi, Boost, Britvic plc, Coca-Cola, Dunnes, GlaxoSmithKline, Musgrave and Vimto, with major project brand names that include BPM, Club Energise, Coke, Fruice, Lucozade Energy, Lucozade Sport, Pepsi and Schweppes.

The company has a certified Quality Management system in place, the BRC Global Standard in Food Safety, and currently holds Grade A certification. In addition, by complying with all of its clients standards in relation to quality, Norbev increases its own level of quality, resulting in maintaining what it describes as the ‘highest common denominator’, satisfying all quality needs that are asked of it from the related bodies.

Norbev is environmentally aware, too. It believes that it has a responsibility to care for and protect the surrounding environment in which it operates; it is committed to investing in a sustainable future for the planet, its environment and its business. With this in mind, the company is dedicated to complying with all environmental legislation and to improve its environmental performance across all of its business activities.

Producing an extensive range of soft drinks, from traditional spring water through to carbonated drinks and onto fruit juices, Norbev works diligently to deliver new innovative products that bring ideas to life and success to its clients.
