Norfolk-based cold pressed rapeseed oil producer, Larchwood Foods, has launched two oils, Larchwood Foods Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil and Larchwood Foods Extra Virgin High Oleic Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil, which have been developed to meet the specific requirements of the food manufacturing sector.

Manufactured using state-of-the-art production facilities at Larchwood’s farms in Norfolk, the new oils offer value for money, without compromising on quality. Stringent quality checks, along with technologically advanced equipment ensure that Larchwood also boasts extensive capacity and product consistency.

Hugh Mason, owner of Larchwood Foods, said: “In recent years, consumers have become increasingly health-conscious, and we understand the pressures that are upon food manufacturers to reformulate their recipes and reduce saturated fat.  Making a switch to rapeseed oil is a particularly simple and beneficial way to do this, as it contains an excellent balance of Omegas 3, 6 and 9, only half the saturated fat found in olive oil and is free from trans fatty acids.”

Larchwood Foods Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil contains half the saturated fat found in olive oil and ten times the amount of Omega 3. It’s also rich in Omega 6 and 9, as well as the natural antioxidant Vitamin E.

Larchwood Foods Extra Virgin Oleic Cold Pressed Rapeseed oil is a premium quality oil with a superior ‘mouth feel’, delicate taste and beautiful amber tone, and is ideal for mayonnaises and salad dressings, as well as gourmet dipping.

The oils are also extremely versatile and can be used as cold ingredients, release agents and as a replacement for butter in pastries, cakes, breads and sauces. Benefitting from particularly high smoke points, the products are also ideal for roasting, deep frying and wok frying.
Larchwood Foods is also one of the few family farm businesses working towards BRC accreditation.
