Goose Island Beer Co. has opened its first ever European Brewpub in the heart of Shoreditch, East London, offering fans of the original Chicago craft beer a triple threat offering of great food, live music and delicious beer.

And to celebrate its launch – the team have tapped up London artist Jess Wilson to create 10 bespoke 1m high Goose Island heads that have been hidden around Shoreditch. Eagle-eyed beer fans who spot the Goose Island head, snap a photo, tag @GooseShoreditch on social media and show it to Brewpub staff will enjoy a tasty brew, compliments of Goose Island.

Inspired by its much beloved sister Brewpub in Chicago, the Shoreditch Brewpub will bring home to the UK previously unavailable Goose Island brews like Old Man Grumpy (5.8% ABV), Fog Bowl (7.2%) and Next Coast (7.2% ABV), alongside its highly sought after 2017 Bourbon County Stout (14.1% ABV) and brand new 2018 Bourbon County Stout (15.2%), and local collaboration beers.

Also available will be a Chicago-inspired menu featuring a truly unique pizza selection, subs and classic American favourites like wings and pretzel bites with beer cheese sauce to match.

Ongoing programming at the Brewpub will include both indie and headliner live acoustic and DJ acts, one off microbrews, tap takeovers, and brewery tours.

The Brewpub will be headed up by Siebel Institute certified Goose Island UK Brewmaster Andrew Walton, who is responsible for the creation of microbrews made on site, Walton will also be the first in Europe to manage the Rack AeriAle system, an innovative nitrogen draft-dispensing system that connects barrel-aged beers directly to the pub’s tap system without the risk of oxidisation.

Chicago brewery Goose Island has hidden 10 oversized goose heads in Shoreditch, London, to celebrate the launch of its first European Brewpub. Punters who spot the heads, designed by local London artist Jess Wilson, and post to social media tagging @GooseShoreditch can redeem a free pint at the Brewpub (while stocks last).

Andrew Walton, Brewmaster, Goose Island Beer Co., said: “I am so stoked for Goose Island fans and fans-to-be to see what we have in store. I’ve been working on some crazy delicious microbrews that’ll be available exclusively at our Shoreditch Brewpub. I know London has always held a special place in Goose Island’s history, and I can’t wait for us to make our mark on British beer culture, creating a new experience in the heart of east London, where foodies, beer drinkers and music lovers alike can join together in appreciation of a good time – and great beer.”

Goose Island Beer Co. celebrated its thirtieth anniversary this May and the London Brewpub follows openings in the USA, China, Mexico, Korea and Brazil.
