ESSENTRA PACKAGING WINS DESIGN TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD

The in-house design department of Essentra Packaging has been named Design Team of the Year at the prestigious UK Packaging Awards.

The company was also highly commended in the ‘Packaging Company of the Year’ category, after reaching the final shortlist of four nominees.

Essentra’s four-strong design team is responsible for customer projects from around the world, creating designs on a variety of pack types and substrates which are then manufactured using gravure, digital, flexo and litho print processes. Typical applications include security print designs, narrow tear tape opening devices and larger package labels.

As well as promotional and brand image designs, the team is also expert in high level security print design techniques which are integrated into the packaging to support brand protection and anti-counterfeit activity. A particular skill is the ability to integrate multi-functionality into the designs so that a label or tape can incorporate easy opening, resealability and security features alongside eye-catching graphics.

In their citation, the UK Packaging Awards judges commented: “The company drew some glowing praise from the judges with one saying that Essentra’s work was ‘very professional’ while another noted that the company is ‘technically very advanced with excellent tamper proof and innovation’.”
