Salvo CFS and Rondanini UK have joined forces to create a new joint-venture under the banner of Salvo 1968 Limited, which will supply major restaurants and café groups from its modern distribution facility in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.

The new company’s mission is to build on the reputation of Salvo CFS, which traded in the south of England supplying a broad range of specialist Italian foods and drinks over the last 43 years, owned and managed solely by the Cumbo family.
The Salvo philosophy is based on quality produce and quality service, with very personal relationships with its well established customer base, encompassing a number of the finest restaurants and delis in the south of England.

With the well reported changes within the Italian food services sector in London in recent years, Salvo 1968 believed that the sector was missing a great many of the values that had previously made the Italian community in London proud to associate itself with; that is to say, quality authentic produce, honest pricing and personal service.

As a result, the partners of Salvo 1968 have combined forces to develop the company into a leading Italian food and drink supplier to independent and medium sized groups in the UK, representing some of the finest and most established producers from Italy, with ranges that take in oils and balsamic from Fini in Modena, and what Salvo 1968 believe to be the finest OO pizza flour from Molino di Vigevano.
There is also a core range of Italian ingredients under Salvo’s own brand “Narello”, whilst Bonani coffee is being specially selected and roasted for Salvo 1968 in Emilia Romagna, and then supplied to a variety of award-winning coffee operators and restaurants in the UK.
What is more, Salvo 1968 has announced that it has entered into collaboration with Gruppo Colussi, one of Italy’s leading manufacturers of pasta and bakery products and owners of the Agnesi Pasta brand.

Agnesi is one of the oldest pasta brands in Italy, founded in 1824 by Vincenzo Agnesi in Imperia, Liguria. Today, Agnesi pasta is made from the best durum wheat with high protein content and slowly dried and extruded through bronze dye, to create a unique delicate taste, with a natural bright colour that is highly regarded by pasta connoisseurs the world over.

Agnesi Pasta is available in 500gm and is ideally suited for restaurateurs who use the double-cook process.

On 10th-12th October 2011, Salvo 1968 will have a stand to exhibit its entire range of produce at the Restaurant Show in Earls Court 2 (stand E99), where the company will use the opportunity to update its customers and introduce itself to the restaurant community. The Restaurant Show has extended opening hours to cater for busy schedules and rotas; Monday 10am – 5pm, Tuesday 10am – 7pm and Wednesday 10am – 5pm.
