A two day training course at Unifine’s prestigious Milton Keynes Product Development Centre was awarded recently to University College, Birmingham student Daniel Crewe. Lucky Daniel was one of a dozen most talented bakery students from across the UK, who were nominated by their departmental heads to attend the course.

Run in collaboration with the Worshipful Company of Bakers, the training course at Unifine involves hands-on production using all the latest bakery techniques and Unifine’s top quality ingredients. The company has been conducting the event for over 15 years and at least 160 students have passed through their doors.

The award ceremony for Daniel took place at UCB during a special prizegiving dinner attended by 150 guests. (Students from other disciplines were also honoured during the evening.)

On handing Daniel his special award, Chef Patissier for Unifine, Graham Dunton told guests about Unifine and its activities in Europe. ‘I am proud that the company I work for is able to give this kind of support to up-and-coming talent,’ said Graham. ‘Whether that is by offering our facilities or my own services, I hope it will continue for a long time to come.’
