Skymark invests further in Scunthorpe site

Skymark, a leading UK independent manufacturer and supplier of plain, embossed and printed flexible films for the food, personal care and medical packaging industry, is making further investment in its site at Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire with a new Nordmecanica Super Simplex solvent-less laminator.

The new technology will further increase the capacity of Skymark enabling the company to enhance its customer service as the demand for short run work increases.

Paul Neath, Skymark Director, said: “We’ve been involved with a number of new product launches with major brands this year and its clear that our customers are looking for more functionality from their packaging, as well as faster turnaround. Packaging is not just about protecting and preserving the contents anymore it needs to deliver a number of features that support the brand management and performance aims of the customer.”

Paul Glover, Skymark Technical Director, added: “The addition of this machine to our site in Scunthorpe will deliver greater operational flexibility. The Nordmecanica solution was chosen due to its competitiveness and delivery commitment; it also enables interchangeable parts with the rest of our current lamination machines which is critical when we’re responding to our customers’ needs on a 24-hour basis.”
