Traditional English cheese manufacturer, Joseph Heler, have invested £1.2m in new pre-pack facilities at Laurels Farm, Cheshire. The company, which has been manufacturing quality English cheeses for over a century, now exports to 42 countries and has contracts with many supermarkets in the UK for pre-packed cheese and ingredient cheese to compliment their sandwiches.
The two pre-pack areas were chosen for the next phase of the continuing development of the site to maintain it’s consistent high level of hygiene and food safety.

Kemtile of Warrington have been a supplier to Heler’s for over 15 years and were awarded the flooring contract for the two rooms which amounted to 800 sq m of flooring.

Polyurethane resin was recommended as it could be laid with falls to Wiedemann stainless steel drains, which allows easy cleaning. Deep kerbs were also a feature of the design of the floor as these could be cleaned easily as well.

A new product in the Kemtile portfolio was Panelchok barriers – these were included as a safety barrier on the entrance and as a personnel safety barrier in the adjacent storage area.

Managing Director Mike Heler commented “We have been employing Kemtile as our main Contractor for over 15 years on ground surfaces both inside and outside. They are a very professional outfit managed by Jamie Cook and they give a very sleek and efficient service that manifests itself in a first class finished product.” He continued “We rely on Kemtile to keep all our floors up to specification for food safety purposes and have been complimented by Customers on that general standard within the Factory. We have been very impressed by the work ethic shown by their staff and would not hesitate in recommending Kemtile as a top class operation that is competitively priced.”
