A million miles from the hustle and bustle of urban life but just 40 minutes from Edinburgh and Glasgow, DoubleTree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro is set within 10 acres of private landscaped grounds. The Victorian style hotel located in the leafy suburbs of Dunblane, offers breathtaking views of the Trossachs and is the ideal retreat for both business and leisure guests.

Following a multi million pound refurbishment the hotel was re-branded to DoubleTree by Hilton, a brand recently introduced to the UK by Hilton Hotels, based upon a core culture of providing a “warm and welcoming experience” for every guest from the moment of arrival. The DoubleTree hotels have been specially selected to capture luxury and relaxation, for both the leisure guest as well as those travelling or meeting on business.

Deputy Manager at Dunblane, Martin Watts says, “After travelling from far and wide to visit the hotel we want to reward our guests with sumptuous surroundings and the very warmest of welcomes, caring service and attention to detail at all times.”

One of the most significant investments and focal points was on the food and beverage departments. The hotel is proud to be partnered with one of Scotland’s most celebrated Chefs, Nick Nairn, who has been engaged with the business to consult on the menu design, production and execution of all catering at Dunblane.

The ‘Kailyard by Nick Nairn’ restaurant features four different menus each year – one for each season. Nick works with the in-house Executive Chef Steven Campbell, Martin Watts and with the Restaurant Manager, Natasha King to ensure that everything is executed to a very high standard.

Nick says, “At The Kailyard by Nick Nairn Restaurant, I aim to complement and augment DoubleTree Dunblane’s undoubted qualities with my own lifetime culinary philosophy of what’s required to create great food: sourcing the finest Scottish ingredients – in-season and locally produced where possible – and employing the skills of a great chef to do them justice!

“I’ve been working closely with the kitchen brigade, supported by my executive chef Colin Halliday, to create simple, harmonious cuisine that will excite your palate. We’re constantly developing new and exciting dishes and I have continued to work closely with the hotel team to develop the entire food and beverage offering so that guests can enjoy superb food throughout the hotel.”

The cocktail bar formed another significant development within the hotels facilities. Situated just off the main foyer, this area offers a relaxed, informal atmosphere where guests can sample our fantastic hospitality whilst enjoying a drink, cocktail or meal from the lounge menu throughout the day. The Stuart Lounge boasts an open fireplace and provides a contemporary and yet relaxed environment for guests to enjoy Nick Nairn’s Afternoon Tea.

Conferences and meetings are also catered for in 8 dedicated meeting rooms hosting meetings for 2 to 500 delegates. The hotel was recently proud hosts of the 2011 Scottish Food & Drink Awards with 380 guests.

Martin concludes, “Why not enjoy complimentary use of our health and fitness facilities throughout your stay. Sample our new summer menu in the Kailyard by Nick Nairn, the perfect venue to relax after a day exploring the local countryside, or take life at a slower pace and indulge in one of our many health and beauty treatments on offer.”
