The prestigious store, Harvey Nichols, has recently awarded a supply contract for Lady Jay’s preserves. Trading under the name of My Specialities Limited, a company established in 2006 by Lady Jeanette Duggin, and using the trademark ‘Lady Jay’s’, the products take preserves into the next dimension.

Lady Jay’s basic premise is to team the finest fruits – limes from Latin America, oranges from Spain and soft fruits hand-picked by local Norfolk farmers – with premium quality alcohol. So, the range includes ‘Piña Colada’ and ‘Strawberry and English Sparkling Wine’ – both winners of a Gold Star Great Taste Award 2009 from the Guild of Fine Food, and ‘Raspberry and Vodka’ and ‘Lime and Gin’, winners of 2010 Gold Taste Awards. Other varieties include ‘Strawberry and Champagne’, and ‘Apricot and Brandy’. Lady Jay’s ‘Lime and Gin’ and ‘Chunky Orange and Whisky’ marmalades were each commended in The World’s Original Marmalade Festival competition in 2010. An exciting new flavour, ‘Seville Orange and Champagne’ was launched at Feast East last year.

“I am delighted with the contract to supply Harvey Nichols with my preserves,” comments Lady Jeanette. “They bring a touch of the exotic to the breakfast table, but they can also be used to enrich cakes, enliven chicken, fish or prawn dishes or make delicious deserts using ice cream or yoghurt.

“I spend much of my time making marmalades and preserves and experimenting with new and exciting varieties. I plan to add one or two additional flavours shortly.”

Lady Jay’s preserves can be found in Harvey Nichols stores in London, Leeds Manchester and Edinburgh.
