Award winning brand design agency Thru the Line recently launched its new brand identity and label for Wold Top Brewery for their gluten free beer ‘Against the Grain’

The agency developed the identity following a strategic brand review with the Yorkshire Wolds family-based brewery, and to date the product has received great attention and positive response from current and new customers alike, including celiac groups. As well as a new brand identity and label, a pump clip and carry home packs have been designed to broaden the product message and create impact. The brand was taken to trade shows in USA late 2009 where response from likely distributors was very positive. UK mail order has a regular and loyal following; and the brand was listed by ASDA in selected stores in 2010 where sales are currently exceeding all expectations.

Gill Mellor, Director of Wold Top says ‘The team at TTL really got to grips with what our business is about, and we are delighted with the outcome for ‘Against the Grain’ which is a fabulous product. All of the elements within the brand identity and design were well thought through and really do have empathy with us as a business’.

Erika Ritchie, TTL says ‘We wanted to re-create the Wold Top story, and develop a positioning for ‘Against the Grain’ which enhanced its naturalness; uniqueness and relationship to the brewery. As we know the celiac society struggle to find suitable products for them and this is a growing market – so ‘Against the Grain’ works well for everyone’.
