Two thousand and eleven begins on a high for pastry specialist Pidy as the Northampton-based company creates a new managerial position to support its growing business in the UK.

Mr Adrian Peck has been appointed as Pidy’s General Manager Designate.  His tasks will include assisting the present sales team with its plans to secure new UK business, especially in the café, retail, bakery and frozen pastry sectors.

Mr Peck will be working alongside General Manager Robert Whittle, whose brief is to double Pidy’s UK growth over a three year period.

Growth to date has partly been achieved through a rigorous programme of Research & Development and the introduction of new concepts and product ranges into the UK market.  This has been boosted by the development of Pidy’s North American interests – with Mr Whittle spending considerable periods of time in New York State.

An experienced food industry executive, Adrian Peck is well placed to take up the reins while his GM is abroad.  He comes to Pidy from flatbread manufacturer Mission Foods, where he was one of the company’s Business Managers. Mr Peck’s food industry knowledge spans over 20 years – mainly in Technical Sales and Research & Development.

‘We are delighted to have Adrian on board as we go through this massive expansion of the Pidy ranges and brands in the UK,’ says Robert Whittle.  ‘He joins us at an exciting time when his technical, R&D and quality control experience will become a particular asset to our team as we continue to expand our business into new markets.’
